Not Withholding Information
I mustn't withhold a link to Janni Lee Simner's "Revision lessons." Among her hard-learned reminders:

This has been on my mind a lot lately, since in the war part of War and Peace Tolstoy just left me hanging for several thousand pages waiting to find out if Nospoilertov survived the big battle.
Finally he casually mentions that Nospoilertov wasn't in the battle at all.
